Root and TWRP recovery for Cherry Mobile Fuze S

Maximize the fuze!

Cherry Mobile's surprises the heavy android smartphone gamers and power users with their newest Fuze S with a monstrous 4000 mAh battery! With a very few compromises, this full powered smartphone only priced at 4,499 Php, from which even I looked hard to have one.

Finally, after having this device and tried its performance and power, I was amazed on how great this smartphone was. With few optimization and tweaks, Cherry Mobile's Fuze S could be the most affordable yet powerful smartphone near its price range.

Like the usual notes, minimal optimization done by most android apps is already good enough for an ordinary smartphone users, but for a techie person, as much as possible customization is a great stuff. To address you're boosting needs, here are the how to guides for rooting and flashing TWRP that will most probably assist you for your flashing needs.

How to Root Cherry Mobile Fuze S running android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Note: If you are not already new to rooting kind of stuffs, you may find this guide so piece of cake, but for the benefit of the most, please be careful on installing stuffs or modifying system files on root mode.


Flash TWRP on Cherry Mobile Fuze S


Rooting Fuze S was already enough actually if you were only just to use it for apps that need root access. However, if you really want to install custom recovery flashable ZIP's, you might really need a custom recovery first like the popular Team-Win Recovery Procject commonly known as TWRP.

To begin the flashing, here the guide for you:

1. Download TWRP_recovery.img that was made for Fuze S.

2. Place the recovery image anywhere on your storage (SD-card).

3. Download and install Rashr Flash Tool. (You may also use Mobile Uncle Tools but the steps may differ.)

4. From your phone, open Rashr Flash Tool, tap Recovery, select Other from storage.

5. Locate the TWRP_recovery.img that you have downloaded earlier.

6. Begin the flashing by choosing Yes. Wait for a few seconds and it will ask you to Reboot to recovery mode, proceed by agreeing.

7. Check if the TWRP recovery is working and it's done!

Notice: If you want to revert on Stock recovery, I have provided you a link for Fuze S stock recovery. Flash it by simply following the same steps above.

One tap root with KingRoot!

Most popular rooting app for mediatek-based android device as of this date!


Not a month long, another new smartphone or tablet is announced to the public sporting new hardware specifications and features. We aren't even surprised if one of these devices was powered by MediaTek as in fact, they indeed created their name in the smartphone insdustry.

Now, when it comes to android development. The word "Root" is the most prominent. Any enhancements are only made possible with root access or superuser rights on a device, MTK-based smartphone is not even an excuse to this. Thanks to a Chinese app called KingRoot, rooting was never a problem as it's just one tap away!

Kingroot! The all around rooting tool for most android smartphones and tablets.


How to use KingRoot?


1. Download and install KingRoot for android.

3. Open KingRoot, tap Root to proceed.

4. Wait a for minute or two until it's done. (Refer to the image below)


5. Reboot your device then continue by following the steps below:

Verifying Root Access:


1. Download and install Root Checker.

2. Open Root Checker then select Verify root access.

3. Wait a little while until you see you root status.

4. Done!


If the method doesn't work, you can try it twice or find another rooting app.

Steps for flashing TWRP

1. Download Rashr Flash Tool and TWRP custom recovery image and put it to your phone's SD-card.

2. Install Rashr Flash Tool and open it.

3.  Select Recovery > Other from storage and locate the TWRP recovery image.

5. If prompted to proceed on flashing, choose Yes then Reboot to recovery.

6. Once booted in TWRP recovery, congrats!

1. Download TWRP recovery and save it on your phones storage (preferably SD-card).

2. Download and install Rashr Flash Tool

3. Open Rashr Flash Tool, tap Recovery > Other from storage and find the TWRP recovery image: CM_FlareS3_TWRP.img

5. If asked to continue flashing, select Yes then Reboot to recovery.

6. Once you successfully booted in TWRP recovery mode, it's done.

Flash CWM Recovery in Cherry Mobile Flare S3

Custom recovery that works?


If you've just have your Flare S3 rooted properly, what comes next is to install the popular ClockworkMod recovery also abbreviated as CWM. But before anything else, there are some precautionary measures that we should do in order to successfully flash CWM custom recovery without hesitations.

If you are already a pro in rooting and flashing stuffs, you may skip this but reading this might help you answer some of your unanswered thoughts.

First thing is to gather some research about what is rooting and flashing stuffs. A few but brief background of this was enough for non-developer user.

Second, learn what and how to backup your apps most especially your ROM. This is the most important thing for anyone who tries to tweak their android phone.

How to Flash CWM Recovery in Cherry Mobile Flare S3 running Kitkat [4.4]

Flashing Steps:

1. Download CWM recovery image and put it in you phone's SD-card.

2. Download and install Rashr Flash Tool

3. Open Rashr Flash Tool. Tap backup. (Do the backup stuffs there)

4. Tap Recovery > Other from storage and locate the CWM recovery image: H870_140927__CWMrecovery_141226-153507.img

5. If asked to flash, tap Yes please then Reboot to recovery.

6. Once you're already in CWM recovery mode, it's done.

How to Root Cherry Mobile Flare S3 the Easy Way

Have thought of rooting Flare S3?


You may be an owner of this bang for the buck android phone but have it rooted crossed your mind? For a few Flare S3 users having a previous knowledge with rooting and flashing tweaks with their old android devices, I am quite sure they are looking for an answer for this and even if they do have it discovered, they still hesitate for what will be the outcome for doing so. For the relief of Flare S3 owners, today's blog article will be showing you the fried and toasted way to root Cherry Mobile Flare S3 in the easiest way it could be.

How to Root Cherry Mobile Flare S3 running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat


Before anything else, I need you to properly read what is rooting and would would be the pros and cons of rooting. Understanding these will help you decide whether to root and tweak your phone or stay remain on your phone's stock state.

The steps below are proven and tested to work on most versions of Flare S3 running 4.4 Kitkat. The users tried to do the steps below and sadly failed didn't harm their phones.

Root via Phone


Requirements:


Rooting Steps:

1. Download KingRoot.apk. Make sure it is in your phone's storage.

2. Install KingRoot.apk. If installation was blocked, go to your phones Settings > Security> Unknown Sources (mark it check) then reinstall.

3. Open KingRoot, tap Root to proceed rooting.

4. Wait until the rooting process is done. A check mark appears once you have successfully rooted your Flare S3.


If you saw that image after the rooting process, then you have rooted your phone. But wait, we need to verify if the rooting was properly done. Restart/reboot your phone then follow the steps below:

Verifying Root Access:

1. Install Root Checker.apk

2. Open Root Checker then tap Verify root access.

3. Wait for the app to check your device. If there's a prompt appeared, Grant it.

4. Once done, a message will showing your phone's root access state.

5. Done!

If you have failed with this method, try the best alternative which is Rooting Flare S3 via PC/Laptop.

Requirements:


Rooting Steps:

1. Download and install iRoot and PDAnet.

2. From your phone, go to Settings > Developer options > USB debugging (mark check).

3. Connect your phone to your computer using USB cable.

4. Open iRoot.

5. Click Connect Device and wait for it to detect your phone. (It may take few seconds to detect).

6. Click Root and wait for the app to root your phone.

7. It may automatically restart your phone. It's normal.

8. Wait for iRoot to show that rooting was finished and whether if it is a success or failed.

9. Verify your root access using Root Checker. (Same steps shown above).

ROOTING SUCCESS!

But wait, there's more! You may recognize that the installed superuser manager was a Chinese app. If you want it change like the usual SuperSU app, follow this guide:

1. Download and install SuperSU from Playstore.

2. Open SuperSU and it will prompt you "The SU binary needs to be updated". Click Continue.

3. Wait for the update to finish. Once done, go to SuperSU's Settings.

4. Find Trust system user and mark it check.

5. Select install SuperSU into /system then click Continue.

6. Once done, it should automatically restart/reboot your phone, if not, reboot it manually.

7. Done! Notice that Chinese su manager is gone. You can uninstall other Chinese apps if you want to.


Congratulations! You have successfully rooted your Cherry Mobile Flare S3.
